Constant Acceleration Test
IEC 60068 Standard
IEC 60068 is one of the standard series on environmental testing issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission. The IEC 60068 standard series provides a series of environmental test methods for electronic and electrical products to evaluate their performance and reliability under various environmental conditions. The IEC 60068 standard series consists of multiple parts, each part covering different environmental test methods and parameters. The main topic of this section is constant acceleration testing.
01 IEC 60068-2-7
This standard is used to determine the adaptability and performance of components, equipment, and other electrical and electronic products under the forces generated by steady-state acceleration environments (excluding gravity), such as those experienced from operating vehicles, airborne transport, rotating machinery, and projectiles, as well as to assess the structural integrity of certain components.
When a centrifuge is used to generate steady-state acceleration, the direction of acceleration is towards the center of the rotating system. In some special cases, if certain samples are sensitive to rotational forces and can only be tested using equipment that generates linear acceleration, the relevant specifications should address this.
If the linear dimensions of the sample are less than 10 cm, any part of the sample (excluding suspended leads) should be within±10% of the specified steady-state acceleration value. In other cases, the specified steady-state acceleration tolerance is from -10% to +30%.
The standard test levels are:
Acceleration /(m/s2) | Acceleration/(m/s2) |
30 50 100 200 500 1000 2000 5000 | 10000 20000 50000 100000 200000 300000 500000 |
02 KRD30 Constant Acceleration Tester (Box Type)
KRD30 series box-type constant acceleration testing machine is used to determine that electronic components, small components and other electrical and electronic products are subjected to the force generated by the steady-state acceleration (constant acceleration) environment, such as running vehicles, aerial vehicles, rotating machinery and projectile, whether the structural adaptability and performance are good, and to assess the structural integrity of some components.

03 KRD31 Constant Acceleration Tester (Arm Type)
KRD31 series constant acceleration tester is designed for testing under extreme acceleration conditions according to standards such as MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-202, and IEC68-2-7. It is most suitable for testing electronic components or devices. Under high g effect on microcircuits, to check adaptability and reliability of wiring and the internal structures. It may expose mechanical and structural defects that are not found with vibration and shock tests.
The basic operating principle can be summarized as follows: the three-phase current motor drives a pair of bevel gears with a large reduction ratio to decelerate through a flexible coupling. The large bevel gears are installed on the rotating main shaft, and the working arm is also fixedly connected to the rotating main shaft, thereby driving the working arm to rotate around the main shaft. The test product is installed on the mounting plane of the rotating arm with a certain radius from the rotating main shaft. When the rotating arm rotates at a constant speed around the main shaft, the test sample on the rotating arm is subjected to a constant acceleration. The required acceleration value can be obtained by changing the installation radius of the sample and the rotation speed of the rotating arm.
Foundation
It needs to be emphasized that the safety issue of the swing arm constant acceleration tester is extremely important, so when the equipment is installed, the constant acceleration tester should be installed in the test pit.
